The couple clearly leaned toward a more modern, fashion-oriented wedding aesthetic.
They cared more about:
- material contrast
- visual cohesion
- understated sophistication
- personalized storytelling
They wanted the favors to feel less like gift packaging and more like part of the wedding styling itself.
Approach
The favor used a compact black rectangular box wrapped in heavily textured specialty paper, giving it a look closer to luxury fragrance packaging than traditional wedding favors.
An oversized metallic gold orchid became the main visual focus, creating a strong contrast against the rugged matte black surface and establishing a distinctly modern editorial mood.
To soften the seriousness of the black-and-gold palette, a custom illustrated card featuring the couple, their pets, and everyday scenes was added at the center, bringing warmth and personality back into the design.
From the Client
“We didn’t want our wedding favors to feel traditionally ‘wedding-like.’
The black texture, gold orchid, and illustrated card together almost felt like a small art object placed on the table.”
