The couple wanted their wedding favors to feel festive and refined, while still carrying a sense of warmth and natural texture.
They hoped the packaging would balance traditional Chinese wedding colors with a softer, more tropical Southeast Asian atmosphere — something elegant enough for a banquet setting, but still relaxed and approachable.
Approach
The entire gift basket was wrapped in deep red satin fabric using a furoshiki-inspired wrapping technique, creating soft folds and a sculptural knot at the center.
Instead of using excessive decorative elements, the visual focus was concentrated on a single oversized gold phalaenopsis orchid paired with dried brown botanicals. The contrast between the dark red satin and metallic gold created a restrained red-and-gold palette that felt more mature and contemporary.
Beneath the fabric wrapping, the actual container was a woven rattan-style basket. The natural woven texture softened the richness of the satin exterior and introduced a tropical, Southeast Asian feeling that felt especially suited to destinations like Singapore or Malaysia.
Inside, the contents combined recognizable premium brands with practical lifestyle products:
- Godiva chocolate tin
- Rose white tea
- L’Occitane cherry blossom body care
- A horse-shaped aroma stone
- Satin sleep mask
The selection balanced food, fragrance, and self-care, creating a favor that felt generous while still visually curated.
